Valerie Allen is founder and CEO of Valerie Allen Public Relation (VAPR) and Expert Connection PR. She is a media relations and management strategist with more than twenty years of experience in the industry and is considered one of the most trusted names in PR. Her firm is a certified woman owned and operated small business and she is a member of PRSA-Los Angeles, the Television Publicity Executive Committee (TPEC), Women in PR, and is a two times recipient of The Best Branding Agency in Los Angeles.
Playing an integral role in his overall success, Valerie worked with radio and TV personality, Dr. Drew Pinsky and helped launch DrDrew.com, the hit TV series Celebrity Rehab, and the nightly Dr. Drew Show on CNN. She has represented A-list talent including Adam Carolla, Loni Love, Rachel Uchitel, Jason Wahler, and Mackenzie Phillips. She also represents top authors and world-class experts like James Van Praagh, Judith Krantz, Dr. Helen Caldicott, and Dr. Adolph Brown. In the health and wellness space she has worked with top Drug and Alcohol Rehabs including Hazelden Betty Ford, the Pasadena Recovery Center, Seasons in Malibu,The Meadows and more.
Valerie has helped many non-profit organizations with their communications strategy and media relations efforts. Currently she is working with the The Ed Asner Family Center helping them to raise awareness and support the needs of the neurodivergent community in Los Angeles. She has also worked with national organizations such at The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation and is a media advisor to the Power to Decide in Washington, D.C. an organization that provides trusted, high-quality information – backed by research – on sexual health. She is the former co-president of Families With Children From China, Southern California.
Before opening her own firm, Valerie held senior level positions at public relations powerhouses Burson-Marsteller and Rogers & Cowan. She was also a senior account executive at Davidson & Choy Publicity and garnered television publicity experience at 20th Century Fox Television.
She has coveted credentials such as a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College Park School of Communications in New York, a Masters degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia and is the two-time recipient of the prestigious George Foster Peabody Broadcasting Award which she won for her work on the PBS educational series FUTURES with Jaime Escalante.
